Product Review: Pura Body Naturals

It’s been a while since I made a video. I thought that talking about the good-smelling, natural products of Pura Body Naturals was worth it! I also talk about my first flat-ironing experience.
Have a great holiday!

A Really Good and Natural Hair Butter: Rainforest by the Body Shop

I have been using this hair butter by the Body Shop and I would highly recommend it! You don’t need a lot and it makes your hair feel so soft and the ingredients are natural! I love the smell too! In fact, I gave the Rainforest shampoo and conditioning a try as well…all were good products!

Defined Curls or Slightly Kinky: You are beautiful!

Based on the feedback that I get from friends and strangers alike, I am inspired to embrace my God-given traits. I don’t even find it surprising that people of other races besides my own will immediately compliment me, while some of those with simliar backgrounds and hair texture find “fault.”

You make your own choices as individuals! Mine is to be proud of who I am and not conform to what is comfortable for everyone else! I have tried every hair transformation in the book: weaves, braids, colors, straight, jheri-curl, wigs, etc……………….I finally found the perfect image of me.

Product Review: Pantene Curly (Pro V) Products

Well…I decided to venture out and try to find other products that give my hair the curl definition that I like. I have been using Miss Jessie’s Curly Pudding and have found that it workds best for me: no frizz, defined curls and moisture. The down sides are that it is not all natural, it’s pricey and I put a lot on, and have to order online because the only Target in my area that was selling it has not restocked it in a while.

I have been using the curl defining gel and the curl shaping mousse on my hair after I co-washed. Although I don’t get the moisutre that MJ’s pudding gives, I do get defined curls. But this is what I normally do to my hair:

Let my hair stay soaked after washing. I only dab it dry a bit with my micro-fiber towel.
I do not comb my hair. It has a nice curl pattern.
Once it is almost dry, I blow dry it to stretch it out. (And sometimes I don’t)

My Garden, My Hair…..using natural herbs to care for my hair.

This spring, I decided to grow some herbs for my hair. I have planted rosemary, peppermint, lavender, and basil. All of these herbs help to promote the growth of healthy hair. If you look in my archives, you’ll find the definition of a variety of herbs and how they are used to stimulate the scalp. I planted the lavender for the use of scent in my hair and home…lavender is quite relaxing and nice to put in your bedrooms to help you sleep better.

Not only will I be growing these herbs all summer, for the first time, I’ll be trying my hand at drying them out and turning them into oil. I’ll keep you posted! I am going to let them grow for a few months!

I get the goose bumps every time I watch the Great Debaters. I have the utmost respect for those who paved the way for me to speak my mind.
